Speaker Slides

Misdiagnosis is more common than you may think. An estimated 12 million people experience delayed, missed or wrong diagnoses every year--half of these are potentially harmful.

Our speaker, Io Dolka, will describe what is known about misdiagnosis, factors that contribute to diagnostic errors and what can be done about them. Tools have been developed that can be utilized by both patients and clinicians to advocate and facilitate best practices in diagnosis. Io will share the impact of misdiagnosis from a patient perspective and will leave participants armed with resources and strategies to help patients achieve better follow-through and improved outcomes.
