In this session, Robin Shapiro will help review the major national organizationsand how each can help individuals and advocates support patient navigation and care. Trauma-Informed Care
This brief workshop will provide an overview of trauma and trauma symptomology. We will then take a deep dive into recognizing trauma, identifying practicesand processes that may be traumatizing or retraumatizing, and approaching our work as trauma informed providers. Participants will learn what is needed to implement a trauma-informed care approach, creating an environment whereinboth patients and providers work together from a strength-based and wellness framework to ensure improved healthoutcomes and wellbeing.
